Challenges for Babbitt

Products commonly used in Power Generation

Solder: Lead-free solder is commonly used, often composed of tin, silver, and copper (Sn-Ag-Cu). This composition offers excellent reliability, conductivity, and environmental compliance. (SAC Solders)

Babbitt: Tin-based Babbitt alloys are widely utilized, typically containing tin (up to 89%), antimony (around 7.5%), and copper (approximately 3.5%). These alloys provide high resistance to wear, corrosion, and elevated temperatures, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications. (Grade #2 Babbitt)
