| Kapp Tin-Zinc Solders
for Aluminum Solders aluminum to aluminum and copper. Good
corrosion resistance and tensile strength. Optimum melting range between
soft solder and silver brazing alloys. Forms for dip and furnace
soldering, torch and iron, spray guns and rub tinning.
Benefits and Uses
Used to join heating panels, high voltage components & sound equipment.
Used in spraywire form to spray molds, patterns, capacitors, trophies, and
for ultrasonic soldering.
General Procedure
Clean the area to be soldered with a stainless steel wire brush. Apply
matching Kapp companion flux when necessary. Heat the area to be tinned
(NOT the solder wire itself), then tin the area by rubbing the wire on the
surface.
The following chart represents our standard tin-zinc alloys. Many factors,
such as materials, temperature, and method of application determine the
end result. Call Kapp Engineering Assistance to discuss your specific
needs. We recommend testing appropriate alloys in your specific
application to ensure suitability. Samples of Kapp's alloys are always
available upon request.

91% Sn - 9% Zn - KAPALLOY - 390°F eutectic alloy.
The best solder for aluminum wire to copper busses or copper wire to
aluminum busses or contacts.
80% Sn- 20% Zn, 70% Sn - 30% Zn and 60% Sn - 40% Zn
Solders aluminum to aluminum and aluminum to copper panels. Benefits
include higher tensile strength and higher temperature tolerances than
KAPALLOY.
Also consider Cadmium/Zinc Solders or Alumite
for Aluminum Soldering Needs.
All Kapp aluminum solders are available
in bar or wire form.
Custom alloys and forms are our specialty.
