KappFree™ solder is a Lead Free, Cadmium Free formulation designed specifically to replace Lead solders in Copper and Stainless Steel plumbing, and in electrical and electronic applications. KappFree™ is simple, effective and easy to use in both manufacturing and field applications. KappFree™ provides superior joint strength, vibration resistance, and thermal cycle fatigue resistance in both piping and electrical products. KappFree™ has been used successfully for over a decade in the Lead Free manufacture of electrical and mechanical connectors, heat exchangers, and electronic components for harsh environments.

Benefits and Uses

KappFree™ has been designed to accomplish three important Lead Free, Cadmium Free objectives:

The following chart contains typical physical properties for KappFree™ solder joints. *Strength values are for an average joint on Copper-to-Copper, and are general guidelines when selecting solder for a particular application. Strength and ductility characteristics vary greatly with changes in soldering techniques and base metal alloys.

The following chart represents standard KappFree™ Tin-Zinc alloys. Many factors, such as materials, temperature, and method of application determine the solder joint strength and characteristics.
